A video has emerged of an offshore wind turbine in flames. The turbine is one of several located off the Arklow coastline. It is reported that a lightning strike was the cause of the damage during today’s stormy weather.
In the video, the crew of a boat can be heard relaying the details of the fire via radio. Flaming debris can also be seen falling from the turbine into the sea.
