Tributes have been paid to popular Arklow Firefighter Denis Kenny who passed away on July 14th.
Colleagues spoke about their “Friend and colleague DM Mr Denis Kenny, we’ll never forget all the late nights and huge effort he spent taking us under his wing and giving us his vast experience and knowledge weather it was driver training, breathing apparatus you were always there dedicated!”
Dennis had almost 30 years service in his “key role of keeping the community safe with his guidance and bravery.”
The crew of WW15 expressed their “deepest and heartfelt condolences to Dennis’s wife Adrian, Shane and Lorraine and family.”

Arklow Cancer Support also posted a heartfelt message of condolence
“It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that I announce the sad passing of our treasured friend Denis Kenny. Denis has been a friend, a volunteer, a person who has always been available and willing to offer his help, support and wealth of knowledge in any task, whether big or small undertaken at our Centre.
“No job being too great as Denis always had a contact who he could rope in. Two words were not in his vocabulary “Cant or Wont”. Denis we will miss your wit and good humour.
“ACS send our sincere sympathy to his wife Adrienne who is one of our founder members and Treasurer on our Board, his son Shane, daughter Lorraine, his grandchildren whom he adored Fainne, Aoibhinn and Freya and his extended family and friends. R.I.P Denis.”
