With so many guides and lists circulating, we thought we’d add ours to the mix. We’ve tried to gather as many events as we can in one place to make it easy to plan your St. Patrick’s weekend 2024 in Arklow.
So whether you’re herding children through the parade, rounding up a motley crew for a night on the tiles or just looking to escape the parade madness, here’s the lowdown on what’s on and where.
The Main Event
Grand Marshals for Arklow’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2024 are the fabulous Breen Brothers of Atlantic Bro-ing fame. The parade kicks off at 2pm from Mr. Price, travelling over the Navvy Bridge, down Abbey Street to Lower Main Street and back up Main Street to The Parade Ground.
This year, a number of local groups have collaborated to create Arklow’s Inaugural Sensory Space to enjoy the parade from. There are both indoor and outdoor options available. To access these areas, you will need to have a Family Carers Card, Autism Card, Sunflower lanyard or JAM card.
In addition, a social story has been prepared to make your day as enjoyable as possible!

Please note that Road Closures in Arklow Town will be in place from 1-3pm
If you’re in the market for attending more than one Parade locally then you could attempt a hat trick and catch parades in either Aughrim, Coolgreany or Rathdrum too!
St. Patrick himself (Donie Anderson) and his geese and sheepdogs who will be leading the Aughrim St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2024 alongside Grand Marshall Margaret Brady with kick off in Aughrim at 10.30am.
Coolgreany St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2024 commences at 12pm with Arklow Pipe Band leading Grand Marshall Angela Kelly up the Main Street
