Arklow’s Aaron Bermingham completes charity cycle

Aaron Bermingham from Arklow has just completed an epic cycle all in aid of charity. The solo journey took him on a whopping 1,600km route from Barcelona to Rome. Generous family and friends donated to the challenge which was in aid of the Irish Cancer Society, RNLI, Samaritans Ireland, and The Alzheimer Society of Ireland.

Speaking after finishing his incredible achievement Aaron said:

“Where to start! I just want to say a massive massive thank you to everyone who’s supported me and these 4 great organisations over the past 4 weeks. It has completely blown me away!”

“Leaving Barcelona I wasn’t sure what to expect for the next month but I can honestly say I would do it all over again in a heartbeat (not anytime soon though).”

“I was extremely fortunate throughout the whole trip, perfect weather while I was on the road, no major problems with the bike, and very little soreness in the legs. It’s as if there were people up above looking out for me every step of the way”

“Excited now to get home and kick the legs up for a few days!”

Donations can still be made through Aarons’ fundraising page
