Arklow Library invites you to Celebrate World Book Day Today

In case you’ve missed the note or not looked at your schools App this week, here is your reminder that it’s World Book Day tomorrow!

Last year Arklow Library welcomed Pirates and Princesses, Superheroes, Wandas, Wallys and a whole host of interesting book characters.

This year they invite you for some fabulous fun and books galore between 3-6pm.

Come as your favourite character!

Did you know that you can get in touch with a the World Book Day €1.50 books in braille, large print, and audio format from Vision Ireland at library@vi.ie

World Book Day support readers who are dyslexic by asking publishers to ensure the books are printed on off-white paper with a high opacity to ensure all our books are accessible to all.

Founded by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation) on 23rd April 1995, the date was specifically selected as it is the same date that William Shakespeare died on along with a number of other notable authors around the world.

In Ireland and the UK, World Book Day is celebrated on the first Thursday of March and is run by the ‘World Book Day’ charity.
