Arklow Businesses Join Too Good To Go App

Too Good To Go

A number of Arklow businesses have joined the fight against food waste. It follows the launch of a new app called Too Good To Go.

The company’s aim is “To make sure good food gets eaten, not wasted. Every day, fresh food goes to waste at cafes, restaurants, hotels, shops, and manufacturers – just because it hasn’t sold in time”.

“The Too Good To Go app lets customers buy and collect Surprise Bags of this food directly from businesses at a great price”

“The surplus food bags, known as ‘Surprise Bags’, will contain a range of products that are approaching their sell-by or use-by dates at a third of the price, costing just €3.99 each to purchase.”

The app is growing in popularity with many Irish influencers such as ‘Irishbudgeting’ sharing their ‘Surprise Bags’ on social media.

Businesses in Arklow that have signed up for the initiative include Applegreen, Aldi, and the recently opened Opers Italian restaurant in Bridgewater Shopping Centre.
