34 Apartments Proposed For Old Arklow Shipping Site

Planning permission has been lodged for the construction of 34 new apartments on the old Arklow Shipping site.

The site which is located adjacent to the Arklow sailing club was left vacant following the construction of the new Arklow Shipping building.

Full details of the submitted planning permission are detailed below.

  • A three-storey detached office building (646 sqm) and a single-storey outbuilding (30 sqm) will be demolished.
  • A new five-storey apartment block (3,196 sqm GFA) with 34 apartments will be constructed.
  • The 34 apartments will consist of 14 one-bed apartments and 20 two-bed apartments, all with balconies on the southwest facade.
  • The development will include an ESB substation and switchroom, waste storage areas, plant, bicycle parking, 34 car parking spaces, and SUDs (including a green roof).
  • Associated hard and soft landscaping will be created, and two new entry/egress points off North Quay will be constructed.
  • All other site excavation, infrastructural, and site development works above and below ground, including changes in level, boundary treatments, and associated site servicing (foul and surface water drainage and water supply), will be carried out
